Auditions for Greenville City Carolers will be held August 9, 2pm. Audtions for Asheville City Carolers and Atlanta City Carolers will be announced here soon.
Before auditioning here are some of the prerequisites you should know: Our carolers should be able to sight-read at a decent level, have dependable transportation, and a reasonably flexible schedule from after Thanksgiving through the Christmas season, especially evenings and weekends.
The City Carolers (formerly The Greenville Caroling Company) is made up of professional holiday carolers, dressed in provided Dicken's costumes, who sing and occasionally interact with audiences of all ages for the holiday season.
We perform 4-part a cappella holiday charts and Christmas carols in SATB quartets. (Click to hear a sample of our sound and rep). Our venues will be varied. Anything from a shopping center or hotel lobby to a tree lightning or private party for country clubs. All of our gigs will be mostly in the greater Greenville, Asheville areas and South Atlanta area and are given to the singers depending on availability and preparedness. (We typically take off Christmas day!)
Our carolers will be mostly seen strolling, as part of a tableau, in the background, and only occasionally are we center stage entertaining audiences throughout the season.
